INTRODUCTION

The Harvest festival invites you to explore the connections between climate change and food security through learning, prayer, action and giving. Over the year, we are following the seasons of agriculture, as well as the liturgical calendar. Giving thanks for an abundant harvest is one of the world’s oldest customs. But there are many places in the world where harvests are not abundant and where people are hungry. Climate change is exacerbating this reality. Given the differences in climate and crops around the world, harvest festivals can be found at various times at different places.

 There will be a collection, the proceeds of which will be donated to Bently House, Dun Laoghaire.
